Wortell opens next-gen Cyber Defense Center and strengthens global digital resilience

Gouda, 20 November 2024 – On Thursday 14 November, Wortell celebrated the festive opening of its renewed next-gen Cyber Defense Center (CDC) together with relations and partners. This innovative center (a major upgrade from our previous Security Operations Center (SOC)) provides organizations worldwide with a state-of-the-art solution for 24/7 proactive security, detection and remediation of IT landscapes. The CDC responds to the growing threat of cyberattacks by helping companies strengthen their digital resilience and always stay one step ahead of potential attacks.

The official opening was performed by Jasper Nagtegaal, Director of Digital Resilience at the State Inspectorate of Digital Infrastructure (RDI). He emphasized the importance of legislation such as NIS2 and the cooperation between public and private sectors for strengthening the digital infrastructure in the Netherlands. 

Future of cybersecurity

Maarten Goet, Director of Cybersecurity at Wortell, looked back on the past five years of Wortell Enterprise Security and the role of Managed eXtended Detection and Response (MxDR) in strengthening digital resilience.

The opening also discussed the impact of the digital energy transition, the changing NIS2 legislation and the specific challenges for the healthcare sector, with contributions from Peter Baard (Energie ISAC Nederland) and Onno Theuvenet (Z-CERT), among others. In this context, the importance of strong detection solutions for healthcare institutions was underlined, with Wortell's MxDR services as a selected detection and response solution by Z-CERT playing an important role in strengthening cyber resilience for healthcare organizations.

This is done without relying on third parties, which greatly increases the speed and effectiveness of our response.
