Stronger together: the unique partnership between Microsoft and Wortell
Since 2002, Wortell has found a reliable partner in Microsoft. Our journey together has led to a deep-rooted connection. One that drives innovation and creates unprecedented value for our customers. In this blog post, Danny Burlage, CEO of Wortell, and Roy Methorst, partner alliance manager for Microsoft at Wortell, talk about the core of this unique, long-term partnership.
"This partnership is not just an agreement between two companies," says Danny. "It's an amalgamation of visions — a shared ambition to use technology as a driving force to make good things happen."
"We make sure that the voice of our customers is heard"
The fact that two technology experts do not focus on the technology itself may sound strange at first glance. But, Roy explains, technology is a means to an end: "What matters is how we shape the technology together and tailor it to the needs of the market. Ultimately, we want to empower people with technology and ensure that our customers stay ahead of the curve."
"We want to help them with current and future issues," says Danny. "Because we are on the Partner Advisory Council, we can put our money where our mouth is: twice a year we go to Redmond to actively think about the steps Microsoft is taking towards the future. At the design table, we represent the voice of our customers. And we notice that it is being heard."
"We want the technology that Microsoft develops to meet the needs of users. By actively participating in these conversations, we can achieve this goal."
"We work side by side with Microsoft to push the boundaries of what is possible"
Over the years, Wortell has entered into Microsoft partnerships on all fronts and organizational layers: from sales and engineering to management and board. As a result, strategic depth has been added to the partnership. This is expressed in various ways.
An example: Wortell has been actively involved in the development of Microsoft products for years. "As co-developers, we're working side-by-side with Microsoft to push the boundaries of what's possible now," says Danny. "This allows us to translate our customers' feedback directly into concrete solutions."
Roy adds: "We have been at the basis of various Microsoft products and services. This shows how much trust exists between us, but also how much value we bring together. That benefits our customers and the broader Microsoft community."
"Our MVPs are leaders in their field and bridge builders"
Wortell's team of Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs) is perhaps the most unique aspect of the partnership — in combination with regional director Maarten Goet. Why? "The MVPs are the heart of our knowledge sharing and community," says Roy. "Our MVPs are leaders in their field, but also bridge builders. They translate the latest insights and innovations from Microsoft into practical solutions for our customers."
In addition, we have a secret weapon that only Wortell has," Danny adds. "Our partner alliance manager Roy ensures excellent coordination of the whole: under his leadership, everyone is constantly informed and our partnership remains very active."
"This is a journey we are proud to continue"
What does the future of the partnership look like? "Promising," says Roy. "We remain committed to delivering breakthrough solutions that transform the way companies work. By joining forces for this common goal, we transcend the sum of its parts. This is a journey that we are proud to continue!"
